Recruit film analysis

Hudl highlight reels analyzed for the metrics coaches actually ask about: top speed in MPH (estimated), repeatable explosive moments with timestamps, sustained-motion streaks, and position-specific watchlist cues. Every number is tagged estimated — speeds are camera-relative without per-field homography, but within-clip comparisons are meaningful and the timestamps let you jump straight to the moments.

Current pipeline: YOLOv8-L person detection on every other frame · fastest-player-per-frame speed proxy with cut rejection · BGR-histogram-correlation shot-segmentation · burst events thresholded against the 95th-percentile peak · px-to-mph handwave calibrated against typical HS broadcast framing.

When per-program calibration loads: verified MPH via field homography, jersey-keyed per-player grades, sideline-camera angle for true 40-time, and biomechanics overlays (stride length, hip fluidity) on the hero frames.
